Gift Registry 101

Bridal Registry Basics

  • Register for what you really want and love!  It has to speak to you. Couples worry too much about pleasing other people during this process.
  • Go in person and see things – hold them in your hands. If you are not able to stop by our showroom we are happy to send you samples for review.
  • Avoid things that are overly trendy, you may outgrow them.
  • I always recommend registering for sterling silver flatware. It will retain its value and last a lifetime. This is the time to start a collection, one spoon at a time! Also register for stainless steel or silver plated flatware for everyday use.

  • If you don’t want a formal and everyday set of dinnerware,  build off of one pattern and add some special items for more formal or festive occasions.
  • Before starting – sit down with your partner and discuss your lifestyle.
  • Think about the future and how you will aspire to live and entertain.
  • Register early – people will start purchasing gifts for engagement parties etc and find a way to tell people where you are registered via a website or family members.

  • Find a price point balance.   There are creative ways to have a variety of price points on your registry – we will help you find them.
  • Write your thank you notes early – within 2 weeks of receiving the gift if you can.
  • Register with a company / expert that can help guide you through the process and advise on what to register for…so many people, regardless of their background or age, are unsure of how to begin the process.
